Designated Manager

Position Overview:
The Designated Manager is the face of our company and plays a key leadership role in overseeing daily operations in compliance with Minnesota 245D rules and regulations. This person ensures policies, procedures, and training remain current while building a strong, positive culture for staff and persons served.
The ideal candidate is confident, dependable, compassionate, and ready to make tough decisions when needed-all while inspiring others to succeed.
Key Responsibilities:
Leadership & Operations
- Serve as the primary leader and professional representative of the company.
- Oversee program operations to ensure compliance with MN 245D licensing standards.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of state rules, regulations, and best practices.
- Develop and implement systems that improve efficiency, service quality, and outcomes.
- Lead by example with professionalism, positivity, and accountability.
Staff Development & Supervision
- Supervise, mentor, and support Designated Coordinators.
- Create engaging training programs for new and current employees.
- Ensure all required staff training is completed and documented.
- Foster teamwork, motivation, and professional growth among employees.
- Address staff performance concerns with fairness and consistency.
Communication & Collaboration
- Build strong relationships with administration, staff, persons served, families, guardians, physicians, case managers, and community partners.
- Communicate clearly, respectfully, and effectively in all situations.
- Participate in meetings, service planning, and problem resolution.
- Handle sensitive or challenging situations with confidence and compassion.
Quality Assurance & Compliance
- Ensure documentation, service delivery, and records meet licensing requirements.
- Review and update company policies and procedures regularly.
- Prepare for audits, licensing visits, and internal reviews.
- Respond promptly to incidents, concerns, and compliance matters.
Innovation & Growth
- Bring fresh ideas to improve services, culture, training, and operations.
- Help shape the future of the company through creativity and leadership.

Qualifications & Experience Required
Required Experience
- Minimum 2 years of supervisory or management experience in human services, healthcare, social services, or a related field.
- Experience working with individuals with disabilities, mental health needs, or vulnerable populations.
- Knowledge of Minnesota 245D rules and regulations or similar licensing standards.
- Experience training, coaching, and developing staff.
- Experience handling confidential information and professional communication.
Preferred Experience
- Previous experience as a Designated Coordinator, Program Manager, or similar leadership role.
- Experience with policy development, audits, compliance, or quality assurance.
- CPR/First Aid certification (or ability to obtain).
